Bell, this par-72, 6,405-yard course features Kikuyu fairways and Bent and Poa greens, offering golfers a blend of tradition and challenging play with notable elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers.

“Best public golf course in Long Beach. Facilities keeps it up pretty well. It’s not too easy and not too difficult. It’s got nice hills that make it more difficult. It’s not riddled with sand traps like some of the other local courses. Pretty great practice facilities as well.”

“The course is well maintained and with the long beach golf club system playing the course with a cart is a great deal. You able to order food while playing and pick it up hot and fresh at the club house. Parking can be a little bit of a hassle on the weekends but since I play only during the weekdays it is always easy.”

Fairways are huge and very forgiving

“Big Rec is a really nice course. The fairways are huge and very forgiving. The greens are very fast, but they are all in great condition. The tee boxes can be better, but they’re not horrible. The course overall is in great condition and very fun to play. The driving range is small, as in not enough spaces/mats, and is always packed. The range itself is good and it has easily seen distance signs. All the employees I had contact with were excellent.”
